November 16, 2022 | Joining and rejoining scouts can be confusing. Friends of Pack 351 created these resources to assist families and youth in navigating the process.
We are excited you are considering joining our Cub Scout Pack. All youth entering grades K-5 are welcome.
- Kindergarteners belong to our Lion Den,
- 1st graders belong to our Tiger Den,
- 2nd graders belong to our Wolf Den,
- 3rd graders belong to our Bear Den,
- 4th graders belong to our Webelos Den ,
- 5th graders belong to our Arrow of Light Den.
We are a very active pack that believes in equity and sharing while having fun safely. This means that we expect all scouts to have an equal opportunity to participate in all den and pack activities. Scouts are expected to share in the activities and let others participate. To make this happen, we also expect parents to be engaged and participate.
It takes all of us working together to make this pack and its dens work well and successfully maintain a busy, interesting and FUN calendar of activities. We ask that all our families step up in some way or another, be it small or big, to help our pack not just function, but thrive! Some examples include but are not limited to; helping to lead a den, helping set-up and clean-up at pack meetings, planning and leading one-time activities (hikes, family camp, community service projects, etc.), participating on our Pack Committee, helping plan and lead fundraisers (Tree Recycling Committee & Car Wash Committee), helping plan and lead our bigger events (Blue & Gold Banquet, Pinewood Derby), helping coordinate pack outings (e.g., Hike Club, camping), STEM activities (e.g., NOVA Club), and so many more!
Most importantly, we want everyone to enjoy participating and being a Cub Scout! We view our pack as a family setting up fun activities for all our youth and their family members to participate in and ENJOY!
We typically meet three times a month between September thru June. All our Meetings are at St. Ignatius Church and school in Dillon Hall (the school cafeteria), 7 – 8:15pm. Our usual den meeting days are the 2nd and 3rd Mondays of every month. The den meetings are geared to advancing scouts towards their next rank and participating in fun activities. Our pack meetings are once a month year-round on the 4th Monday of every month (the exceptions are typically November, December, and March due to holidays and Spring Break). The pack meetings are full group events where we also hand out awards earned at previous den meetings, field trips, and other such activities.
